Training Camp

One of the main components at the NHL official's camp is the fitness tests. We, as NHL officials, spend a great deal of time in the summer working on our conditioning in preparation for our tests at camp. Our fitness coordinator, Dave Smith, overseas all the testing, which includes various strength, cardiovascular, flexibility and overall conditioning exercises. It's always an anxious day for the officials, but we know it is a necessarry evil to go through the tests. In order to keep pace with the world's greatest athletes, we too must be in world class athletic shape. The NHL officials take great pride in our conditioning and work ethic. It's a great way to show "Smitty" how hard we worked over the summer to prepare for the upcoming season. Here a few pictures from a successful 2008 fitness testing day.
