New NHL Officials

The National Hockey League has hired 6 new on-ice Officials for this coming season. 4 Referees and 2 Linesmen

Referee Francois St-Laurent. Age: 26 from Ste-Catherine, Quebec. Francois has refereed in the QMJHL Finals twice, the Memorial Cup 2002 in Guelph and the Men's World Championship, Division 1, 2003 in Budapest, Hungary.

Referee Gord Dwyer. Age: 26 from Halifax, Nova Scotia. Gord graduated from St. Mary's University in Halifax in the spring of 2001 with a Criminology and Psychology degree. He has refereed in the QMJHL, Central Hockey League and the AHL.

Linesman Michel Cormier. Age: 29 from Trois-Rivieres, Quebec. Michel has worked in the QMJHL and AHL. He also worked the 2003 World Junior Championship and Memorial Cup Finals.

Referee Justin St-Pierre, born and raised in Chicoutimi, Quebec. In 2003, Justin officiated in the West Coast Hockey League, East Coast Hockey League and the American Hockey League.

Linesman Mark Shewchyk. Age: 28 from Waterloo, Ontario. Officiated in the OHL for 5 years and AHL 3 years. He also worked the 2003 OHL and AHL Calder Cup Finals.

Referee Steve Kozari. Age: 30 from Penticton, B.C. Steve refereed in the Western Hockey League for 5 years and was a Linesman for 4 years. Last season, he worked in the AHL as well as working the 2003 Memorial Cup Final
