Zebras Care in Phoenix

With the support of Zebra's Care and the Phoenix Coyotes, NHL officials, Dan Marouelli, Pierre Racicot, Mark Wheeler and Kyle Rehman had the privilege to meet Renee Youngblood and her family - parents Sandy and Dave, along with her two brothers Cody and Ryan - before the Kings vs Coyotes game at the Jobing.com Arena, on October 24, 2009.

We were honored to have Renee and her family join us in the Officials room prior to the start of the game. Dan took time to explain to Renee and her brothers about the the honor of wearing an NHL Officials jersey and the "Brotherhood" of being an NHL Official. Afterwards, Renee was presented with her own NHL Officials jersey, which she proudly wore during the game. Renee and her brothers were also treated to signed Officials trading cards, NHLOA Zebra's Care hockey pucks, Zebra's Care hats, and a replica zamboni.

After the family was presented with their gifts and had the chance to ask the Officials some questions about their jobs and the game, it was time to head out to the ice. Renee and her family had their picture taken on the ice. Her and her brothers also got the chance to sit in the penalty box. Renee really liked to see her brothers in the penalty box and with a few tips from Pierre and Mark she now plans to put on her jersey and help her Mom separate the boys when they are playing around at home!

As with every Zebra's Care visit, the Officials enjoyed the chance to meet Renee and her family, to share in their special night. We would like to extend a special thank you to Sarah Finecey and the Phoenix Coyotes for making this experience possible.
