Zebras Care at Fenway
Tuesday, January 05, 2010
On Friday January 1st Kerry Fraser, Chris Rooney, Lyle Seitz and Brian Murphy worked the Winter Classic at historic Fenway Park. As part of the days events, the officials met after the game with kids from the "Hockey Project".

The Hockey Project takes at-risk kids in urban communities and puts them on the ice. The goal of the organization is to teach life skills, promote academic achievement, and develop character through the game of hockey.
The Hockey Project provides inner-city kids with certified training, equipment, and ice-time. The program also provides scholarships for participation in youth leagues and summer hockey camps.
Don Moorhouse, one of the founders commented: "We developed The Hockey Project two years ago because we love the game and believe that it can have a positive impact on kids. We have seen it in our own boys who have become better students and better citizens because they know that it will make them better hockey players. As I've told many people, the first time I heard the word "character" it was in reference to a hockey player. Unfortunately, the kids who could benefit the most from our game are too far removed, financially and culturally, from getting out on the ice. The Hockey Project hopes to change that in Springfield, Massachusetts a
city with a great hockey history.
Jeremy Jacobs, owner of the Bruins, provided the Hockey Project with 20 complimentary tickets for the Winter Classic.
