Zebras Care in L.A.

Wednesday, February 16, 2011

On January 8th, 2011 before the Los Angeles Kings played host to the Columbus Blue Jackets, Bill McCreary, Dennis LaRue, Brian Murphy and Bryan Pancich were fortunate to have a special visitor from the Make-a-Wish Foundation of Greater Los Angeles. Four year old Michael Gates, his mom and dad, and younger sister stopped by the referee room to catch a peak of what goes on before the night's contest. This was the family's first NHL game and what a great opportunity to get a behind-the-scenes look!

Michael was kind of shy coming into the room but warmed up quickly as we gave him an LA Kings puck, signed cards, and a gift bag on behalf of the NHLOA's Zebra's Care Charity. After handing out the souvenirs it was out of the room out to the ice to see where all the action takes place and a chance to take some pictures. This was an exciting experience for Michael as he was smiling from ear to ear! Not only did the family have great seats to watch the game, they got to watch warm-ups from ice level!

On behalf of the NHLOA's Zebra's Care Charity, we would like to thank Danielle Prado and the Los Angeles Kings organization for making this visit possible and a wonderful experience for all involved!
